PhD. History, ABD

Project Title: Damming the Remains: Traces of the Lost Seaway Communities.

Rosemary is completing her doctoral research on the dislocation of people along the Canada and United States shorelines of the St. Lawrence River in 1958-1959. The completion of the Saint Lawrence Seaway caused a great deal of dislocation for shoreline communities in Upper State New York, Akwesasne, and Eastern Ontario. Her project considers the memories and physical vestiges of these “lost villages.” The project therefore builds on the work of others including Joy Parr.
