William Hamilton

PhD. History, ABD

Project Title: Re-Inventing "New Ontario": Deindustrialization and Public History in Northern Ontario.

William is nearing the completion of his doctoral studies. He is researching how Northeastern Ontario – once known as “New Ontario” because of its rich natural resources – is remembering its industrial past now that many of the mines and mills are closed. Oral history is central to his approach as are the local archives and memorials in the region.
